چکیده

Background/Aim: Many factors affect initial in-brace correction and treatment outcome in patients with idiopathic scoliosis. Previous studies have observed contradictory results on the role of BMI orthotic treatment. The aim this study was to examine whether impacts correction, isolated relation other predictive (curve magnitude, curve location Risser sign). Methods: A retrospective has been conducted scoliosis treated Cheneau-Sobernheim brace, that had no prior collected analysed data included patient demographics, percentile radiological parameters magnitude Cobb angle, location, expressed as a percentage angle reduction brace opposed out brace. Patients were categorised into groups according their BMI, percentiles, ie: low (< 5 percentiles), normal (5-85 percentiles) high (> 85 percentiles). To determine significant difference correlation relationship between examined variables, variance tests, t-test unequal variance, Pearson coefficient used. Results: cohort comprised 213 (170 females 43 males) mean age 13.5 years at prescription. Low detected 10 % patients, 78 patients. No found groups, nor there any correction. Regarding factors, within well sign. Lumbar curves significantly better than thoracic curves. Significant correlations sign detected. Conclusion: present show that, an independent factor, does not impact Other such sign, play more

Supine Lateral Bending Radiographs Predict the Initial In-brace Correction of the Providence Brace in Patients With Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.

STUDY DESIGN Retrospective, cross-sectional. OBJECTIVE To determine the initial curve correction of the providence brace (PB) and to determine to what extend the in-brace Cobb angle corresponds to the curve seen on supine lateral bending radiographs (SLBR). SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA SLBR are used to assess curve flexibility in patients undergoing surgical treatment for adolescent idiopathi...
